Monclova, Mexico
Monclova is an industrial town in north central Mexico in which there were no services for indigent amputees. The local disabled community had decided to begin a community-based rehabilitation program of their own. They have gotten the attention of their local government, and the mayor has promised his support of any program they can put together.
Prosthetika provided the first training program for technicians and therapists. During the first training workshop, prostheses were made using locally available materials and working side by side with the students. ProsthetiKa followed up with two more training projects to reinforce the instruction and help improve the facilities.
Prosthetika is committed to continuing providing training by prosthetic and orthotic experts.
